almost 7 months!

Oh my sweet baby! How did this happen? you are growing up SO fast! and i wish I could make it stop. You are such a sweet baby and I wish I had more time to just soak you in! You are so incredible. I feel so thankful to be your mama. You are almost 7 months old and you are getting SO fun! You are full on crawling all over now and have been scooting for almost a month.  You are able to go from a sit to your tummy and back to a sit again and are starting to pull up to a stand on everything. We are trying to make sure everything is clean and baby-proofed as everything is going in your mouth and you're about to be really into everything! You love toys and will play really well for long stretches of time- like 10 minutes- by yourself! Amazing. I am actually able to get a few things done in the kitchen while you entertain yourself- Johanna never did that. You love to watch your big sister and always squeal and smile when she comes into a room.  You love the doggy too and are absolutely fascinated and watch very closely when she is around. You love your daddy a lot too! He spends so much time with you- early mornings while mama is still asleep, Sunday afternoons while mama takes Jo on a date, and lots of times when I am cooking or cleaning.  I hope you will be a daddy's girl- he loves you so so much! You are just now starting to really prefer me and will protest loudly every time I leave the room or try to hand you over to someone else.  Separation anxiety... boo! You still won't take a bottle anyway though so I never leave you for long :) You are a pretty happy baby and laugh easily and love to listen to songs and be tickled. You are kind of interested in books, but I haven't read to you nearly as much as I should have.  Right now, you and Johanna nap at the same time from around 12-1:15 each day and then you wake up and Johanna sleeps another hour-ish.  I am trying to use that 1 hour a day of just you and me time to read and sing and just really soak you all in- it is really special! You love to eat and are starting to get pretty good at getting food into your mouth.  We mostly give you soft vegetables- carrots, green beans, zucchini, broccoli, peas, etc. but we have also been giving you cantaloupe and watermelon and apple and you love the sweet fruit! You are still a good nurser, but are super easily distracted so I have to work hard to get somewhere quiet and keep Jo busy while you're nursing.  You probably nurse 6-8 times a day and then once at night.  I love nursing you- I hope you and I are able to enjoy a long nursing relationship! It is so beneficial for both of us and most days it is the only time you let me just hold you- you never stop moving otherwise! You still don't have any teeth and don't really seem to be teething either...I am glad because it sure makes nursing less scary ;) At your 6 month appointment, you were 89% for height and 45% for weight at 16 lbs 1 oz.  You are still rocking your 6 month clothes, but need 9 month jammies now.  We are starting to move into fall weather and we are needing you to wear 9 month clothes because all the 6 month clothing is summery because Jo was bigger than you are and she was a month later too haha. You are so beautiful! Your eyes are still blue, so I am super excited to see how they end up! and your hair is starting to grow in- still blonde too! but you have recently really started to look like your daddy. I don't really know what it is exactly- just your face- maybe the shape or the expressions, but I love it. It makes me melt inside to see your daddy all over you. You were the worst sleeper up until recently. You were still in our room until about 2 weeks ago and you were waking me up 3-4 times every night and then you were up for the day around 5:30 even if we kept you up til 7:30 at night...it was miserable! So, we booted Johanna upstairs (and she is having a hard time with it, so sad) and moved you into her bedroom. And now, you are only waking me up one time a night and I usually hear you in the morning around 6:30-7.  It is such a relief! You are such a happy, happy girl in the mornings! you usually take your first nap around 2 hours after waking up (usually an hour long) and then your second around 12pm (usually 1:15-1:45 long) and then take one more real short nap (maybe 30 mins) around 3:30.  and then you head to bed around 6:30-7pm.  You are just a joy and a delight in our lives and we are so so thankful for you! You are starting the stage that is so much fun and such a handful and I am so thankful both your daddy and I get to be home so much this winter to watch you grow and learn and change- what an incredible blessing from God! I pray for you so often and have started praying for your someday husband too! I know that the Lord has great things in store for you, my girl.  Love always, mama!
